250$ Donation to Enable an old grandmother to provide a better life for a disabled grandchild
Ty is an eight year old boy living in Bac Giang. He was born with cerebral palsy and polio disabilities. Because his parents got divorced and abandoned him, he was raised by his loving grandmother in a simple home. His conditions have caused him to be bedridden and isolated. As a result, he is not only physically challenged but mentally deprived as well. These thig combined have left him in a nearly infantile state and he must rely on his grandmother for everything. She works as a farmer and the two of them live in abject poverty.
Five donated pigs will help provide Ty and her grandmother with a less difficult living condition, with which the grandmother is going to earn about USD125 per month on average. “I wants to have enough financial capability to afford medicine for Ty. Hopefully, Ty can play with his friends and go to school someday” Ty’s grandmother said.
Pigs generate a much-needed income boost by raising and selling at the market. A little pig costs about USD 50 in Vietnam and it is likely to take breeders 4 months to have a one ready to be sold at the market. Profit for raising a porker is about USD 100, which is not much but could help ensure stable income for Ty and his grandmother.
